  主要学术成绩: 

  在树蛙科物种形态分类学,分子系统发育关系,物种特征进化,生物地理学和印度板块与欧亚板块碰撞的生物学解析等研究方面取得一定成绩。研究运用核基因和线粒体基因,构建了树蛙科的分子系统发育关系,在此基础上,结合物种的形态学特征并遵从国际命名法规,先后以第一命名人身份描述和发表了一个新属,刘树蛙属Liuixalus和四个新种巫溪树蛙Rhacophorus hongchibaensis利川树蛙Rhacohporus wui金秀刘树蛙Liuixalus jinxiuensies和十万大山刘树蛙Liuixalus shiwandashan;结合野外观察结果,阐述了树蛙科动物繁殖模式的进化,指出产泡沫状卵的繁殖方式在树蛙科内为一次独立进化,而直接发育繁殖模式在树蛙科内经历了至少二次独立进化;通过树蛙类物种的生物地理学研究,揭示了渐新世时期印度板块和欧亚板块之间存在着快速的物种交流,为地质学研究印度板块和欧亚板块碰撞模式提供了生物学的新视角。通过印度大陆和亚洲大陆的多物种生物地理学拟合,解析了印度次大陆与亚洲大陆间随时间的生物交流变化,揭示了自始新世以来的印度板块和亚洲板块碰撞相接后,多个生物类群在两个板块间的扩散过程,对研究地球板块运动和生物演化规律具有重要意义。研究结果先后以第一作者或者通讯作者身份发表在PNAS, NATURE COMMUNICATIONSMPE, ZOOL J LINN SOC-LONDZOOL SCRIPTAPLOS ONE等国际期刊,其中树蛙科生物地理学研究结果被Nature China评为Highlights Research
